Salman Khan Mourns Death of Bodybuilder-Actor Varinder Singh Ghuman

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan expressed his grief on Tuesday over the sudden demise of professional bodybuilder and actor Varinder Singh Ghuman.

Salman Shares Tribute on Social Media

Salman took to X (formerly Twitter) to post an old picture with Ghuman from the sets of Dabangg. The image shows Salman in his iconic Chulbul Pandey police uniform standing alongside Ghuman. The actor captioned the post with a heartfelt message expressing his sorrow and remembering his late co-star.

Ghuman’s Career Highlights

Varinder Singh Ghuman passed away after suffering a heart attack in Amritsar. He had been admitted to a private hospital following complaints of shoulder pain, where he later suffered cardiac arrest. Ghuman was widely recognized as India’s leading vegetarian bodybuilder.

He won the Mr. India title in 2009 and secured second place in the Mr. Asia pageant. Ghuman also appeared in both Hindi and Punjabi films, sharing screen space with Salman Khan in Tiger 3 (2023). Other notable works include Roar: Tigers of Sundarbans (2014) and the Punjabi hit Kabaddi Once Again (2012).

Condolences Pour In

Tributes to Ghuman have poured in from the film and political fraternity. Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu called him the pride of Punjab and described his death as an irreparable loss.

The late actor had also publicly appreciated Salman Khan in July and August 2025, when Punjab was struck by massive floods. He had praised Salman’s efforts through his Being Human organization to support flood relief and highlight the plight of affected residents.
