Sanjay Dutt expresses solidarity with Punjab Flood victims

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt on Sunday expressed grief over the widespread devastation caused by floods in Punjab, extending his prayers and support to the affected families.

In a post shared on social media, Dutt described the situation as “truly heartbreaking” and assured that he would stand with the people of Punjab during this crisis. “Sending strength and prayers to everyone impacted. I will support in every way I can. May Babaji bless and protect all in Punjab,” he wrote.

The actor’s message comes at a time when Punjab is battling one of its worst floods in recent years. Heavy rains and overflowing rivers have submerged large swathes of agricultural land and residential areas, forcing thousands of families to evacuate. According to officials, hundreds of villages across districts such as Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, and Kapurthala have been inundated, leaving people without shelter, food, and basic supplies. Relief operations by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), state authorities, and local volunteers are underway.

Dutt’s statement has drawn wide attention online, garnering over 1,500 reactions and dozens of comments within minutes of posting. Many users lauded the actor for voicing solidarity and urged others from the film industry to extend similar support to the flood-hit state.

The Punjab government has appealed for additional central assistance to speed up rescue and rehabilitation work.

According to the details Punjab has been worst hit by floods and around 14,936 people have been evacuated from the flood hit areas after heavy rainfall across the state.
