ED raid at Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora’s residence, Arvind Kejriwal reacts

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided the house of Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora. This morning, the ED team reached his house in Ludhiana, and the Central Police Force was deployed outside. Raids were conducted at Minister Sanjeev Arora’s residence and other locations as well. According to sources, this action is being taken in connection with an old case related to money laundering and alleged irregularities in land deals.

 What did Arvind Kejriwal say?

AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal said, “This is the second ED raid at the residence of an Aam Aadmi Party leader within three days. Will the Prime Minister tell us how much black money has been recovered from the countless raids conducted so far at the residences of “AAP” leaders? Not even a single rupee? The entire country is watching how petty politics you are indulging in just for the sake of power.”

Earlier, on October 7, 2024, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also raided Sanjeev Arora’s institutions in a money laundering and land fraud case. The raids were conducted at several locations including his house and office in Ludhiana. Actions were also taken at complexes associated with him in Gurugram, Jalandhar, and Delhi. The allegation was that land obtained for industrial use was allegedly used for residential projects. At that time, Sanjeev Arora was a Rajya Sabha MP.

Just two days ago, the ED raided 10 locations of Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP and Lovely Professional University (LPU) Chancellor Ashok Mittal. ED teams simultaneously conducted raids on Wednesday morning at 7:30 AM at homes in Jalandhar, Phagwara, and Gurugram, as well as at Lovely Sweets, Lovely Autos, and the LPU campus.

According to sources, around 8:15 AM on Thursday, the investigation teams came out of the locations. During the raid, as soon as the officials reached the LPU campus, employees’ mobile phones were taken into custody, and the team directly went to the administration block. There, computer systems, financial records, and other documents were examined.

It is being reported that the ED conducted an in-depth examination of records related to financial transactions associated with Ashok Mittal and his son. Several important documents have been seized, while employees have been instructed to provide necessary files and records. According to sources, this action is being taken from the angle of money laundering and financial irregularities. However, no official statement has been issued by the ED so far.
