CM to Visit Shahkot on Sant Avtar Singh Ji’s 38th Death Anniversary; Security Tightened

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will visit Nirmal Kutia Sechewal in Shahkot today. He will participate in the religious gathering organized here on the occasion of the 38th annual death anniversary of Sant Avtar Singh Ji and will pay obeisance at the Guru house. The Chief Minister may also discuss important issues of Punjab and hold a press conference after the event.

A grand religious gathering dedicated to the 38th annual death anniversary of Sant Avtar Singh Ji has been organized at Nirmal Kutia Sechewal in Shahkot. On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will specially arrive to pay tribute. A large number of devotees are reaching the gathering.

All preparations for the event have been completed by the Kutia management and the local administration. Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal said that 38 years ago today, Sant Avatar Singh Ji left his mortal body. This gathering is held every year in his sacred memory.

Becoming emotional, Sant Seechewal said that in 1981, when Sant Avatar Singh Ji arrived in Seechewal, he himself was studying in college at that time. During that period, the great personality connected him to the path of Gurbani. Today, the work being done in villages, including the sewerage system, cleaning of holy Kali Bein and Budha River, or the contributions made in relief work during floods, is all a result of the teachings and inspiration of Sant Avatar Singh Ji.

CM Bhagwant Mann and Nihang Jathebandis will be participating

Sant Sinchewal stated that scholars, Nihang Jathebandis, and people from religious and political fields from across the country and abroad are arriving for this gathering.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is also specially coming to participate in this event. According to the scheduled program, CM Mann will reach Shahkot at 12:00 PM, where he may discuss important issues of Punjab and can also hold a press conference.

A gift of a 38-kilometer-long road

Talking about the development of the area, Sant Sinchewal said that to compensate for the damage that occurred before the flood in the Sutlej River, he had raised some important issues before Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Taking cognizance of this demand, the government has issued a tender for a 38-kilometer-long road. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will soon lay the foundation stone of this road project.

Concern expressed over illegal mining and overloaded vehicles

Expressing concern over the dilapidated condition of the roads, Sant Sinchewal said that due to illegal mining, de-silting (removing soil from rivers), and overloaded vehicles carrying heavy stones in the area, the roads are getting badly damaged. Because of these heavy vehicles, the Punjab Mandi Board is suffering a huge financial loss, on which it is very necessary to impose a ban.

Possibility of Discussion on Key Issues

There is discussion in political and administrative circles regarding the Chief Minister’s visit. It is believed that during this time, he may deliberate on the current and important issues of the state. There is also a possibility of discussions with Nirmal Kutia leader and Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal regarding environmental, water conservation, and development works.

Tight Security Arrangements

Considering the Chief Minister’s arrival, the local police and administration are on alert. Security arrangements have been tightened in the Kutia and surrounding areas. Due to the VIP movement, necessary changes have also been made in traffic routes, so that the general public and devotees do not face any inconvenience.

The caretakers of the hut have also made full preparations to smoothly manage the arrangements for the welcome and the event. Other prominent religious figures are also likely to participate in the program.
