Saudi Arabia Travel Alert: Air India Suspends Flights to Three Cities Till November 14

October 30, 2026

New Delhi: In light of the ongoing tense situation in the region, Air India and Air India Express have suspended flights to and from three Saudi Arabian cities: Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam until November 14th.

To provide relief to passengers affected by the flight cancellations, both airlines have offered the option of a one-time free rebooking or a full refund upon cancellation.

According to the airlines, passengers with confirmed tickets issued on or before October 30, 2026, and scheduled to travel until November 14th, can reschedule their travel until November 29th, subject to seat availability.

Passengers will receive free rebooking and a full refund

Air India stated that eligible passengers can rebook their tickets to and from any of its destinations in Saudi Arabia where its flights are currently operating.

Meanwhile, Air India Express passengers can rebook their travel to and from any of its operational stations in Saudi Arabia or Bahrain.

Both airlines have advised affected passengers to contact their respective customer service teams or visit their booking offices in the cities for assistance. Passengers can also seek assistance from the call centers via the contact details available on the airlines’ official websites.

Decision amid attacks on civilian targets in Saudi Arabia

The decision to suspend flights comes amid ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including the airports in Riyadh and Dammam.

An Indian national was killed and two others injured in the attack at Dammam Airport. Additionally, an Indian national was injured in the attack on the Shaybah oil field.

Return of Indian Umrah pilgrims stranded in Saudi Arabia continues

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated earlier this month that the Indian Embassy and Consulates in Saudi Arabia are in constant contact with the relevant airlines and tour operators to ensure the speedy return of stranded Indian pilgrims.

Hundreds of stranded Umrah pilgrims have returned to India from Saudi Arabia over the past month. Additionally, more than 10,000 regular Umrah pilgrims have also returned to India.

Passengers affected by the flight suspension have been advised to consult the airlines’ official channels for any travel-related changes.
