SC Commission Takes Suo Motu Cognisance of Viral Audio Row, SSP Summoned

The State Scheduled Castes Commission (SC) has taken a strict stand on the alleged audio clip of Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Wading that went viral on social media. Taking suo motu cognizance of the matter, the Commission has directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Sri Muktsar Sahib Abhimanyu Rana to appear in person on May 29.

The notice issued by the commission said that the audio clip that has gone viral on social media, in which comments like ‘one thousand and a half, 2 thousand sheep’ are being heard, has been taken seriously. The action was taken on the basis of a message sent by Social Security and Social Justice Minister Baljit Kaur.

At the same time, Raja Wading rejected the allegations against him. He said that he was being targeted. The Aam Aadmi Party has fallen to the lowest level. He is busy misusing institutions for political vendetta. Legal action will be taken against all those involved.

Commission seeks forensic investigation report

The Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes has decided to start investigating the case under Section 10 of the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes Act-2004. The Commission has asked the police to conduct a forensic examination of the audio sample and submit a complete factual report.

According to the notice, the SP (Headquarters) will have to appear in person at the commission office on May 29 at 9 am to submit the investigation report, status of forensic action and all the facts related to the case.

Warning of civil court-like action

The Commission has made it clear that if the directions are not followed, then the powers like the civil court can be invoked under Section 10(1) of the Commission Act-2004.

It is being told that this alleged audio clip went viral on social media. After this, a controversy arose at the political and social level. Organisations belonging to the Scheduled Caste community had also objected to the matter.

At present, the police and the agencies concerned are investigating the authenticity of the audio and the match of the voice.

“It’s fake propaganda,” he said.

Rejecting the allegations against him, Punjab Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Wading said that the AAP has fallen to a low level. He said that even about 7 years ago, a fake audio was circulated, which is now being used to target and defame me through the SC Commission.

“Even a child can tell that the voice is not mine. Instead of taking action against those who spread fake propaganda and lies, AAP is busy misusing institutions for political revenge in Punjab. This is nothing but politics of desperation. Legal action will be taken against all those involved in spreading and using this fabricated content. Punjab is watching.
