Schools and colleges will remain closed for these many days in Himachal, classes to be held online

Amid the ongoing devastation due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, the state government has decided to keep all government and private schools, colleges closed for the time being. During this time, online classes will have to be held. Orders were issued in this regard on Wednesday afternoon.

This decision has been taken by the government to ensure the safety of students and employees. Under this, all government-private colleges and schools, diets will remain closed till September 7.

Teachers and administrative staff have also been exempted from coming to the college. However, the heads of the concerned institutions will ensure that as far as possible, classes are conducted through online medium.

Himachal Pradesh state has been receiving continuous heavy to very heavy rains in all areas for the last several days, due to which there has been extensive landslides, falling of trees, blocking of roads, interruptions in power and drinking water supply and considerable damage to public infrastructure across the state.

Apart from this, due to the prevailing bad weather conditions, there is a strong possibility of recurrence of such incidents at many places across Himachal Pradesh. The government has clarified in the instructions that during the holidays, the institutions should be vigilant to ensure the safety of the infrastructure and movable assets of major educational institutions.

If the school property is damaged or there is a possibility of damage to these properties, then the safety of movable assets and school records should be ensured.
