Schools of Eminence: 118 state-of-the-art schools become centers of quality education

Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Shiksha Kranti” initiative has given a new direction to Punjab’s government education system. Launched in 2022, this initiative has established 118 Schools of Eminence across the state, costing ₹231.74 crore.

These schools have now become a symbol of quality education and modern facilities.

These schools have smart classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, swimming pools, tennis courts, and specialized instructors for co-curricular activities. Underprivileged students are provided free coaching, uniforms, shoes, and transportation facilities so that no child is deprived of education.

Their success can be gauged from the fact that 265 students passed the JEE Mains, 44 the JEE Advanced, and 848 the NEET. Civil officials are providing guidance to these students under Chief Minister Mann’s School Mentorship Program.

Furthermore, the participation of over 2.5 million parents in parent-teacher meetings held in 19,200 government schools has also increased public engagement in education.

‘Schools of Eminence’ are now not only temples of education, but this initiative is proving to be a historic step towards providing equal opportunities and a bright future to every child in Punjab.
