Sensational conspiracy in Mumbai: Wife murdered and attempted suicide, 4 arrested

Mumbai: A shocking incident has come to light in Mumbai’s Sakinaka area, where a man plotted to murder his wife to continue his relationship with his girlfriend. The accused allegedly paid ₹6.70 lakh to have her murdered and attempted to make it appear like a suicide.

The case was initially registered as a natural death (ADR) and was about to be closed, but the deceased woman’s father’s suspicions changed the course of the case.

Father’s suspicions reveal the secret

According to the Sakinaka police, four accused have been arrested in this case. They include the husband, Sakaram Chaudhary (36), Shankar Dangi (36), Babu alias Raghav alias Amarchand Gary (22), and Dinesh Gary (20).

The incident occurred on October 14, 2024, when the body of 34-year-old Narangi, also known as Geeta Chaudhary, was found hanging from a fan in the kitchen of her home. Initial investigations suggested it was a suicide and a case was registered. The postmortem did not reveal a clear cause of death.

The body was later taken to Rajasthan for cremation, but the father, Bhana Ram Chaudhary (66), remained suspicious of his daughter’s death. Based on his complaint, a case was filed in Rajasthan, and the investigation began again.

Second Postmortem Confirms Murder

The body was then exhumed and a second postmortem was conducted. The report revealed that the woman had been strangled to death. Following this, the Rajasthan Police registered a zero FIR and handed the case over to the Mumbai Police.

When the Mumbai Police began investigating, it was discovered that the accused husband had previously attempted to kill his wife twice—first by staging a road accident and then by attacking her, but failed both times.

The crime was committed on the third attempt

Finally, the accused hatched a conspiracy for the third time and hired Shankar Dangi to kill her, paying him 6.70 lakh rupees. Shankar involved Babu and Dinesh.

On October 14, 2024, the four men strangled the woman and later hung her body from a fan to make it appear like a suicide.

During interrogation, the accused husband initially misled the police, but confessed to the crime during the fourth round of rigorous questioning. The reason for the murder was stated to be his relationship with another woman, Dimple Chaudhary.

According to the police, if the father had not been suspicious and a second postmortem had not been conducted, the case would have been closed as a suicide.
