All these officers are associated with the engineering department. The Local Bodies Department issued orders in this regard. According to sources, this action was taken in connection with a Rs 52.80 crore tender scam in the Trust.

Earlier, Vigilance SSP Lakhvir Singh was also suspended in this case. However, this is not explicitly mentioned in the issued order. The order only states that this action has been taken under the Punjab Municipal Rules, 1970.

    How the investigation began
Seagull India Ltd. company had filed a complaint with the Chief Secretary regarding this matter. Following this, the DC formed a four-member committee to conduct an investigation. After sending the inquiry report to the Chief Secretary, the Local Bodies Department took this action. The reasons for the suspension are not mentioned in the order.

    The entire case
Regarding the development of Ranjit Avenue Block-C and the 97-acre scheme, when the financial bids for the Rs 52.40 crore tender were opened on December 18, Sharma Contractor became the H-1 bidder by offering a 1.08% discount, while Rajinder Infrastructure offered a 0.25% discount and therefore could not secure the tender.

Meanwhile, Seagull India and Ganesh Kartikeya Construction Pvt. Ltd. were disqualified before the financial bid due to incomplete documents and technical deficiencies.
