A 45-years-old man has been arrested for molesting the 10-year-old daughter of his live-in-partner.
According to the police, the complainant woman along with her daughter was residing with the accused in live-in relationship for the past six years and as per probe the accused had molested the girl for the first time.
However, on receiving the complaint, the police promptly registered an FIR and arrested the accused.
The accused is 45-year-old tailor and a case under sections 74 (assault or criminal force to deter woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 76 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe) of BNS and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against him.
According to the complainant (30), she and the accused have been living together in a live-in relationship for the past six years. Her 10 years old daughter also lives with them in the house. The woman added that on the night of August 22, she had gone to the toilet and as she returned after a few minutes, she saw that the accused was molesting her daughter. She raised an alarm after which the accused ran away from the house.
She added that she later discussed the matter with her relatives and friends who asked her to get an FIR lodged against the accused. Thereafter, the woman, on Friday, filed a police complaint against her live-in-partner.
Investigating Officer SI Kashmir Singh from Salem Tabri police station said that the police registered a case against the accused soon after receiving the complaint and the accused who initially fled from the spot was arrested.
