Ludhiana:
The police have arrested a neighbour for sodomising a 9-year-old boy in a village near Samrala. According to the police the accused had lured the victim with kites. Moreover, the accused was sexually assaulting the victim multiple times for the past around eight months.
The accused has been identified as Prem Singh (46).
The victim’s grandfather had lodged the complaint with the police and stated that the accused, who is their neighbour, used to visit their house very frequently and he even used to attend all the family events.
He added that around four days ago, they learnt that the accused used to sexually assault his grandson, who is class 4 student, by luring him with kites. “The accused had started sodomising his grandson near Lohri festival in January and we learnt about it just four days ago,” he said while adding that the accused threatened his grandson by saying that if he would share it with anyone he would throw him in front of stray dogs on railway track.
SHO Devinderpal Singh said that soon after receiving the complaint from the victim’s grandparents, the police registered an FIR against the accused and arrested him. The medical test of the victim has been done and according to the doctors, the injuries suggest that the victim has been sexually assaulted. However, they are waiting for reports to confirm it.
