SGPC’s Rs 1,487.41 Crore Budget Passed; Rs 100.94 Crore higher than last year

The budget of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the year 2026-27, amounting to ₹1,487.41 crore, was passed amidst resounding chants of religious slogans. General Secretary Sardar Sher Singh Mandwala presented the budget. An increase of ₹100.94 crore was recorded compared to the previous year. This time, the budget marks a 7.28% rise over that of the preceding year.

Earlier, the Committee’s budget session commenced with an Ardas (prayer). On this occasion, the Committee’s President, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, along with all members, were present. Seeking the blessings of the Guru Sahib, they prayed for the successful conduct of the meeting and for the spiritual upliftment (Chardi Kala) of the Panth (Sikh community).

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee presented its budget for the financial year 2026-27. This budget places a special focus on religious propagation, education, and facilities for devotees. The budget session began with an Ardas at the Teja Singh Samundri Hall, located within the SGPC headquarters in Amritsar.

7.28% Increase in Budget
This year’s budget is approximately 7.28% higher than that of the previous year. While the budget stood at ₹1,386 crore in 2025-26, it has now risen to approximately ₹1,487.41 crore. The budget emphasizes strengthening educational institutions alongside promoting religious activities.

Furthermore, priority will be accorded to the construction and expansion of Sarais (lodging facilities) associated with various Gurdwaras—including Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib—to ensure better amenities for devotees. Overall, this budget is being hailed as a significant step towards strengthening the pillars of religion, education, and selfless service (Seva).
