Shahabad: 14-year-old disabled minor raped, accused absconding

An incident that shames humanity has come to light in the Shahabad police station area of ​​Kurukshetra district. A case of rape has been registered against a 14-year-old mentally and physically challenged minor. The incident came to light when the child’s health deteriorated and his genitals began bleeding.

Details of the incident

The victim’s father stated that his 14-year-old son is mentally and physically challenged. On Saturday, while returning from school, at around 2 p.m., a young man from the village lured him to the village dharamshala and raped him.
When the child returned home in the evening, his health deteriorated, and his genitals began bleeding. When the worried family questioned him rigorously, the child recounted the entire ordeal. Following this, the victim’s family immediately took the child to the Shahabad police station and filed a complaint.

Police Action

On the complaint of the victim’s father, the police have registered a case under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO Act. The police immediately conducted a medical examination of the victim. The medical report also confirmed rape. The accused is still absconding, and police are conducting raids to search for him.

The station in-charge stated that the accused will be arrested soon and strict action will be taken. He also appealed to the community for awareness and cooperation in such cases.
