According to police reports, 31‑year‑old Aarti, the victim, was killed by her estranged husband Mohan Pandey with a sharp weapon after a prolonged marital dispute. Both the attacker and the injured lover have been taken to a government medical college hospital with serious wounds.

Immediately after, he entered the home and repeatedly stabbed Aarti with a sharp weapon, killing her on the spot.

Brijdeep, the acid attack victim, was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Police also confirmed that Mohan was injured during the encounter — possibly from a retaliatory attack by Brijdeep — and was brought to the same medical facility for treatment.

The couple had been living separately for some time, and Aarti had moved to Azizganj to live with Brijdeep, Mohan’s anger mounting over time.
