One user pointed out that if Gill had posted about Shukla, people might have accused her of using his name for sympathy. Another said she should not be expected to publicly display mourning to validate her emotions. Supporters also reminded trolls that Gill has honoured Shukla in several ways over the years, and that silence does not diminish her feelings.
