    Uttar Pradesh: Fire Breaks Out In Track Maintenance Machine Coach At Shikohabad Station, One Injured

    Firozabad: A fire broke out in a coach of a track maintenance machine at Shikohabad railway station in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday afternoon, leaving one person injured.

    The track maintenance machine was parked near the railway goods shed when the fire suddenly broke out in one of its coaches. The affected coach was engulfed in flames, with thick smoke rising from the railway premises.

     

     

    A rescue and firefighting operation was launched after the incident was reported. Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and began efforts to bring the blaze under control. Railway officials and staff also reached the site and monitored the situation.

    Loud Explosion Reported, One Person Injured

    Eyewitnesses reported a loud explosion while the fire was raging. One person was injured in the incident and was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.

    The fire caused panic among railway staff and people present around the station. Visuals from the spot showed flames engulfing the coach, while thick smoke could be seen rising from the railway premises.

    A woman who witnessed the incident, Maya Devi Verma, said she noticed smoke coming from the coach and immediately alerted people about the fire.

    β€œI saw smoke and came out and informed everyone. The reason of fire is yet to be ascertained,” Verma said.

    Track Maintenance Machine Parked Near Goods Shed

    According to reports, the track maintenance machine is used by railway PWI department staff for travel and accommodation during track-related work.

    The machine was stationed near the Shikohabad station goods shed when the fire suddenly broke out in one of its coaches. The flames were visible from a distance, prompting a quick response from the fire brigade and railway personnel.

    Other coaches were separated from the affected coach as a precautionary measure to prevent the fire from spreading.

    Short Circuit Suspected, Railway Begins Probe

    Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit may have caused the fire. However, the exact cause is yet to be confirmed and will be established after a thorough investigation.

    The railway administration has initiated an inquiry into the incident, while officials are working to ascertain the cause of the fire in the machine’s coach.
