Shimla: Five from Haryana arrested with 94 Grams of heroin

The Shimla Police has once again achieved a significant breakthrough. Acting on intelligence received from sources, the police’s Special Cell team intercepted and searched a Swift car bearing Haryana license plates in the Tara Devi-Tutu bypass area.

94 grams of heroin (Chitta) were recovered from the vehicle. All five accused individuals traveling in the car were arrested on the spot.

All the accused hail from the Sonipat and Jhajjar districts of Haryana. The police have registered a case in this matter under the NDPS Act.

Shimla Police Special Cell team received information that a suspicious vehicle transporting narcotics was traveling along the Tutu bypass road, approximately 100 meters ahead of the Tara Devi Zero Point.

Acting immediately, the team intercepted the vehicle—a black Swift car bearing registration number HR12AX5838. During the search, 94 grams of ‘Chitta’ were recovered from the possession of the five individuals inside the car. During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted that they had brought the ‘Chitta’ to Shimla with the intention of selling it.

All five accused were arrested, and a case was registered against them under the NDPS Act at the West Police Station, Shimla. Upon being produced in court, all five were initially remanded to police custody for five days. Subsequently, Irfan, Mukesh, Narendra, and Ravikant were sent to jail under 14-day judicial custody, while the accused Anjit has been taken into police remand for further interrogation.
