Two accused arrested with 64 Grams of Chitta
A major breakthrough has been achieved in the ongoing police campaign to crack down on narcotics trafficking within Shimla District. On May 10, 2026, a team from the West Shimla Police Station intercepted a car during a roadblock (naka) near the Tara Devi-Tutu bifurcation. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 64 grams of heroin (Chitta). Additionally, a sum of cash was also seized from the car. The police had received a confidential tip-off that two individuals were traveling toward Shimla from the direction of Shoghi, carrying a significant quantity of Chitta which they intended to sell to local youth. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, a team from the Shimla Special Cell intercepted the vehicle.
Both accused have been arrested, and a case (FIR No. 83/2026) has been registered against them at the West Shimla Police Station under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Both individuals are being produced before the Honorable Court on Monday. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and are also attempting to trace the source of this consignment of Chitta and uncover the extent of the associated drug network.
The police have appealed to the public to immediately report any information regarding the trafficking and consumption of narcotics.
