Shimla-Reckong Peo heli-taxi service resumed; flights between Shimla and Bhuntar to also start today

The Shimla-Reckong Peo heli-taxi service, which had been suspended due to a technical snag, resumed operations on Sunday. One passenger departed from Shimla for Reckong Peo, while two passengers arrived in Shimla from Reckong Peo. Flights between Shimla and Bhuntar (Kullu) are also set to commence on Monday. The operating company restarted flight operations after resolving the technical issue with the helicopter.

Additionally, the online ticket booking service has been restored, bringing significant relief to passengers and tourists. The heli-taxi services, launched in January of this year, had faced a setback during the peak tourist season when operations on the Shimla-Reckong Peo and Shimla-Bhuntar (Kullu) routes had to be temporarily suspended due to technical faults.

Suspension caused inconvenience 

The suspension of services had caused inconvenience, particularly to travelers heading to Kinnaur and Kullu and to those associated with the tourism industry. Rohit Mathur, CEO of the operating company Heritage Aviation, stated that the Shimla-Reckong Peo service resumed on Sunday following the resolution of the technical issue.

Flights between Shimla and Bhuntar will also begin on Monday. The Sanjauli heliport was formally opened for helicopter services on January 21 after receiving the necessary approvals. Heritage Aviation has been entrusted with the responsibility of operating the Shimla-Reckong Peo and Shimla-Kullu routes.
