Shivraj Singh Chouhan Visits Ludhiana, Inaugurates ICAR-IIMR Building, Meets Flood-Affected Farmers

Ludhiana: Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived in Ludhiana today (October 14). This is the Union Agriculture Minister’s second visit to Punjab since the floods. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Ravneet Singh Bittu, and state cabinet minister Gurmeet Singh Khundian, who arrived at the ICAR Maize Institute in Ladowal.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the new building of the ICAR Maize Institute. He personally recited verses before the inauguration.

The Union Minister will also visit Nurpur Bet and meet with farmers there. He will hold discussions with them at a community meeting in Nurpur. The Minister will hand over approval letters for rehabilitation and reconstruction from the central government to the flood-affected people.

Meet the women of self-help groups

Shivraj Chauhan will meet with women working in self-help groups and seek their feedback. As per the program, he will meet with people from different walks of life at the Indian Maize Research Institute. The minister will provide them with detailed information about central government schemes.

Will meet beekeepers in Doraha

In the afternoon, the Union Minister will meet with beekeepers in Doraha after visiting Noorpur Bet village. He will introduce them to modern technologies. The government is developing new schemes to encourage beekeepers.
