Shivraj Singh Chouhan visit flood-hit areas of Punjab, assured all possible help

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is on a visit to Punjab today to take stock of the situation worsened by rain and floods. After the press conference in Amritsar, the Union Minister reached the flood-affected area of Ajnala. Here he met the farmers. The farmers told him about the damaged crops. Congress MP Gurjit Aujla and BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh were also present with him.

Earlier, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria met the Union Minister at Amritsar airport and submitted the report of damage in 5 states. These include Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Ferozepur.

After this, the Union Minister said in the press conference that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent him to Punjab so that he can directly assess the ground situation. After this he left to visit the flood-affected villages.

Shivraj said that Punjab has always been at the forefront in serving the country. Today, when the state is facing the tragedy of floods, the central government will provide all possible help. He assured that the central government stands with Punjab in this hour of crisis.

The Agriculture Minister said that two teams from the Centre have already reached Punjab. These teams will assess the damage along with officials from different departments and prepare a report, which will be submitted to the Prime Minister and the Central Government.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan Punjab Visit

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit the flood-hit areas of Punjab today. He mentioned that the central government is “keeping an eye on the situation”.

“I am going to the flood-affected areas of Punjab tomorrow. I want to tell my farmer brothers and sisters, people that the central government is keeping an eye on the situation. Along with the state government, it will take every possible measure to take the people. I will personally visit Punjab and see the situation there. I will discuss with the people and the farmers,” the senior BJP leader told reporters here.
