Shooting at Georgia High School Injures Student; Teen Suspect in Custody

Georgia: A ninth-grade student was injured in a shooting at Warner Robins High School in Georgia on Wednesday. Police took the teenage suspect, who fled the scene after the incident, into custody about an hour later.

Attack After an Argument

According to police, an argument broke out between two students in a school bathroom. The altercation quickly escalated into a physical altercation. One student allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the other.

An officer stationed at the school immediately provided first aid to the injured student, who was then taken to the hospital.

Suspect Escaped, Later Apprehended

The teenage suspect fled the school after the shooting. Police apprehended him in a nearby area after a nearly hour-long search. According to officials, he was taken into custody without further incident.

The injured student has been hospitalized and his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

Following the incident, the school administration cancelled classes for the rest of the week. Counseling has also been arranged for students and staff.
