Shots Fired at Faridabad Youth’s Residence in Ongoing DJ Dispute

Faridabad: Tensions arose once again in Mejdi village, located near the IMT outpost under the Sadar Ballabhgarh police station area, due to an old rivalry. A dispute that began at an English liquor shop escalated late at night to a young man’s home, where the accused opened fire in the air, spreading panic throughout the area. Although no injuries were reported in the incident, the firing created an atmosphere of fear throughout the village.

A dispute over DJ work has been ongoing between two groups in Mejdi village for the past 10 years. This old rivalry has led to numerous fights and altercations between the two sides. Another incident of this rivalry came to light on the evening of January 13th, when Rohit and Gaurav, residents of the village, were drinking at an English liquor shop near the IMT gate. During this time, an argument broke out between the two over an old dispute.

According to eyewitnesses, a heated argument ensued between the two, but bystanders intervened and calmed the situation. At that point, the two sides separated, and the situation returned to normal.

However, the dispute didn’t end there. Around 8 p.m., Rohit and Gaurav returned to the same liquor shop, where they drank again. There, too, they had an argument, but after a while, both returned to their homes. The villagers thought the situation had calmed down, but no one knew that the situation would escalate.

Some time later, Gaurav arrived at Rohit’s house with his friend Sanjay. Rohit was present at home with his family and relatives. Gaurav stood on the road and began abusing Rohit and threatening to kill him. Gaurav then pulled out his pistol and fired four rounds in the air.

The sound of gunfire shook the entire area. Rohit and his family ran inside the house to save their lives. Neighbors were also terrified, forcing them to close their doors. Gaurav and Sanjay fled the scene after the shooting.

Rohit immediately informed the police after the incident. Police from the Sadar Ballabhgarh police station arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and began an investigation. Police recovered two empty cartridges (shells) from the scene, confirming the presence of gunfire. According to police officials, no one was injured in the incident, which is a matter of relief.

Teams from the CIA and BPTP police stations also arrived at the scene and gathered information about the incident. Police have begun examining CCTV cameras installed nearby and are searching for the accused.

Police officials say that this case is related to an old rivalry and the accused have been identified. They will be arrested soon. The police have registered a case and further legal action is being taken. Police patrols have also been increased to maintain peace in the village.
