Signature Forgery Case: Relief for Abhishek Banerjee; granted interim protection, ordered to appear today

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee has received significant relief in a case involving alleged signature forgery. During the hearing, the Calcutta High Court granted him interim protection, restraining authorities from taking any coercive or punitive action against him.

The case pertains to alleged signature forgery, in which Banerjee’s name had surfaced. The court has directed investigative agencies not to take any coercive measures against him until the next hearing.

Court Directs Appearance Before CID Today
Additionally, the Calcutta High Court has directed Abhishek Banerjee to appear before the CID by 6 PM on June 11 in connection with the signature forgery case. During the hearing, arguments were presented on Banerjee’s behalf, asserting that the allegations were baseless and that he was being targeted for political reasons. After hearing the arguments from the concerned parties, the High Court decided to grant him interim relief.

The court clarified that the investigation and legal proceedings would continue, but no harsh action would be taken against Banerjee until the next hearing. The matter is scheduled for a further hearing, at which point the court will decide on the subsequent course of action.
