2,840 Sikh pilgrims return from Pakistan via Attari border

On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi and Khalsa Sajna Day, a group of 2,840 Sikh devotees, who went to Pakistan to visit the historic gurdwaras, is returning to India today via the Attari-Wagah border. This group had gone to Pakistan under the leadership of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, or SGPC, and included hundreds of devotees from various districts of Punjab. The group is expected to return in the afternoon.

The group also visited other prominent gurdwaras located in Pakistan, which are associated with the sacred memories of the Gurus. This journey not only strengthened religious faith but also provided an opportunity to connect with Sikh history and heritage. Some devotees, referring to the partition of 1947, said that they had heard stories about the gurdwaras from their elders. Now, having the opportunity to bow their heads there themselves, they are happy.

The group had departed on April 10.

According to the information, this group had departed from India on April 10 and is returning today, April 19, having completed its journey. It is worth noting that initially the schedule for this group was set to depart on April 12 and return on April 21, but later this was changed.
