Child from Sirsa Killed in Tree Fall Incident Near Golden Temple; SGPC Expresses Grief.

Amritsar: A tragic accident occurred involving a group of devotees from Sirsa, Haryana, who had come to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. Rajpreet Singh, an Amritdhari Sikh boy, died in the accident. The accident caused chaos at the scene, and local residents immediately began relief efforts.

According to reports, a group of 15 devotees from Sirsa arrived in Amritsar around 2 a.m. on Sunday night to visit the Sri Harmandir Sahib. The group was waiting outside the main gate of the railway station for the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s free bus service. At that moment, a large, decades-old tree suddenly fell.

The body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem

Bhujangi Rajpreet Singh (13 years old) was seriously injured after being hit by the tree and died on the spot. ASI Bagicha Singh of the Railway Station, Amritsar, said that the police have taken the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem. The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem is complete.

Upon receiving information about the incident, several officials and employees of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, including Sri Darbar Sahib manager Bikramjit Singh, arrived at the scene. They expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of all possible assistance. The deceased’s father stated that his family was financially weak.

He followed the Sikh decorum

He said that his son, Rajpreet Singh, had been deeply involved in Sikhism from a young age. Rajpreet had taken Amrit at a young age and lived a Gursikh life as an Amritdhari Sikh. He regularly recited Gurbani, visited Gurdwara Sahib, and observed Sikh decorum.
