New Delhi: Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), demanding the resignation of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains over the alleged paper leak controversy.

Sirsa accused the AAP of adopting double standards, alleging that the party had failed to uphold the principles it once championed regarding examination paper leaks and ministerial accountability.

Sirsa Accuses AAP of Double Standards

Speaking in a video message, Sirsa recalled AAP’s earlier stand on paper leak cases, claiming that party leaders, including Manish Sisodia, had always maintained that the concerned minister should resign if such an incident occurred.

He alleged that while AAP leaders had earlier spoken in favour of fixing accountability, the party was now unwilling to seek Harjot Bains’ resignation despite the controversy in Punjab.

“Yesterday and the day before, when AAP leaders were asked whether the minister should resign over the Punjab paper leak, they said he should resign. But today, this party, which does politics in the name of children, is not taking the resignation of its minister,” Sirsa claimed.

Targets Kejriwal, Sisodia and Bhagwant Mann

Stepping up his attack, Sirsa accused the AAP leadership of shielding its own ministers while preaching transparency and accountability.

He alleged that Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had failed to take responsibility for the alleged examination irregularities.

Sirsa further claimed that the alleged paper leak had jeopardised the future of thousands of students and accused the AAP of putting political interests ahead of accountability.

Political Row Over Punjab Paper Leak Continues

The remarks come amid an ongoing political controversy over the alleged paper leak in Punjab, with opposition parties demanding action against those responsible and seeking accountability from the state government.

The Punjab government and the Aam Aadmi Party continue to face criticism from political opponents over the handling of the alleged examination irregularities, while the issue remains at the centre of the state’s political debate.
