Six J&K Youths killed in Kuwait Road Accident; demands raised to Repatriate Bodies

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has written to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, seeking immediate intervention to repatriate the bodies of six youths from Jammu and Kashmir who lost their lives in a road accident in Kuwait.

In a letter addressed to the External Affairs Minister, the Association expressed deep anguish over the demise of these youths—hailing from the Poonch and Rajouri districts—who were killed in a tragic road accident near the Saad Al Abdullah area of ​​Kuwait on April 9.

The Association’s National Convener, Nasir Khuehami, stated that the victims—Farid Ahmed, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Khaliq, Mukhtar Ahmed, Mumtaz Rashid, and Tasveer Hussain—were returning from work at the time of the accident.

Kuwait Road accident kills six youths from J&K 

Their vehicle collided with another vehicle on a busy highway and subsequently caught fire. Most of the occupants were unable to escape and perished in the blaze at the scene. All the deceased were natives of the Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir and hailed from humble economic backgrounds. They had traveled to Kuwait in search of employment.

Moreover, they were the sole breadwinners for their respective families. Their untimely deaths have plunged their families and the entire community into deep shock and mourning. The bereaved families wish to perform the final rites of the deceased in their native land. They have appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs to intervene immediately to facilitate this process.
