Homeless on Arrival: No Credit Card, No Room

Dhillon revealed that when he first reached Canada, he had some cash but no credit card, which prevented him from booking a hotel room. At one point, hotel staff refused him a room because he couldn’t provide a credit card leading him to sleep outside the hotel with severe jet lag after his long journey.

He recalled how his father had given him some money, but without a credit card, even simple accommodation became difficult. The situation forced him to face the stark realities of life abroad soon after landing.

Kind Strangers and Hard Work Pays Off

Dhillon’s fortunes began to change when an Indian couple in Calgary noticed him sleeping outside and offered help by lending their credit card so he could book a room. This act of kindness gave him some relief in a very difficult phase.

Once he settled in, Dhillon didn’t take success for granted. He took on multiple jobs including working at gas stations, convenience stores, and Best Buy often working 10–12-hour shifts before attending college. He worked long hours to pay for his rent, food, and daily expenses, demonstrating perseverance and determination in the face of hardship.

Over time, Dhillon balanced his work and studies, gradually building a foundation for his music career. His hard work eventually paid off, as he became one of the most recognized names in Punjabi and global music circles.
