In Fatehabad, Haryana, a son attacked his own family over a land dispute. He arrived at Dhani Rampura with his friends. The youths pelted stones at the house and, when the family protested, attacked them with sticks and axes.

The young man’s parents, siblings, and grandmother were injured in the attack. All are undergoing treatment at Agroha Medical College. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the house. The footage shows masked men pelting stones and attacking with sticks. A complaint has been lodged with the Sadar police station.

Family Alleges Long-Running Dispute Over 10 Acres Of Land

Deshraj, a resident of Dhani Rampura, said he owns 10 acres of land. He has been in a long-standing dispute with his elder son, Mangat, over the division of the land. Several panchayats have been held on this issue, but the matter has not been resolved.

The doors and windows of the house were broken

According to Deshraj, around 11 pm on Monday night, Mangat arrived at the village with 15-20 of his companions and suddenly attacked. The youths first created a ruckus, then opened fire to spread panic, and then pelted the house with stones. The doors, window panes, and other items were damaged in the attack. The youths were armed with sticks, batons, and axes.

Deshraj, his wife Prakash Kaur, mother Pyaro, younger son Rajendra, and daughter Anuradha were also injured in the attack. All the injured were initially taken to the Civil Hospital, where they were referred to Agroha Medical College due to their critical condition. Even after the incident, the son continues to issue threats, leaving the family fearful of another attack.

Sadar Police Station in-charge Prahlad Singh said that the matter has come to his notice. An investigation has been initiated after receiving the complaint. People in the vicinity are being questioned, and further action will be taken after identifying the accused.
