In Bikaner, the son-in-law along with his friends stole Rs 22 lakh from his in-laws’ house. The young man’s father-in-law had sold the farm, which he got wind of. The accused son-in-law planned to do business with 2 friends. At night, he reached his in-laws’ house with friends and entered the house by making a hole in the wall. They broke the lock of the trunk and fled with Rs 22 lakh.
The case is from Chak 17 BD in Khajuwala police station area. After the incident, the father-in-law became suspicious of the son-in-law and filed a case against son-in-law Girdhari Lal Meghwal and his two friends. The police arrested the accused son-in-law and his two friends on Tuesday evening and recovered Rs 13.35 lakh. Inquiries are underway regarding Rs 9 lakh.
Son-in-law and his friends suspected of theft
On June 17, Girdhari Ram Meghwal, a resident of Chak 17 BD, lodged a report. “On June 16, Rs 22 lakh was stolen from my house. Son-in-law Sohanlal Nayak and his 2 friends Buta Singh and Dulichand Nayak are suspected.
In the report, Girdhari said, “I had sold my farm, for which I got Rs 22 lakh, which we kept in a box in the house. My son-in-law Sohanlal Nayak got wind of the money.
He informed his friends Buta Singh and Dulichand Nayak about it. Together, the two friends showed the son-in-law dreams of doing business. They stole Rs 22 lakh from the house with their son-in-law.
The father-in-law had come to know that the son-in-law was a thief.
Police investigation revealed that Girdhari’s son-in-law is originally from Ganganagar. These days, he works in a nearby farm. Sohanlal, who was addicted to drugs, was tempted to see the money and stole it. The father-in-law came to know the very next day that the son-in-law had committed the theft.
Nine lakh rupees still not received
The police have recovered Rs 13.35 lakh from the possession of the accused. The police are interrogating the accused and probing the balance amount and other aspects. It is also being ascertained where the remaining nine lakh rupees have been spent or where they have been kept.
