Son kills father over land dispute in Jagraon

In the village of Jandi, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sidhwan Bet police station in Jagraon, a son murdered his father during a domestic dispute over the division of land. Following the act, he calmly fled the scene. When the house door remained unopened until the afternoon, the victim’s brother arrived to investigate and discovered a blood-soaked body lying inside. Upon receiving this information, the police, accompanied by a forensic team, conducted an investigation and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

The deceased, Harjinder Singh, had been embroiled in a long-standing dispute with his son, Jaskaran, and his wife regarding the division of property. On the day of the incident, Harjinder Singh was alone at home; his wife and son had gone out. It is alleged that the murder was a direct result of this ongoing dispute. Injury marks were found on the deceased’s head.

The deceased’s nephew, Kuljinder Singh, stated that Harjinder Singh had returned home on Tuesday after watching a local tournament being held in the village. He had locked the door from the inside. When the door remained unopened until Wednesday afternoon, people grew suspicious. Upon receiving the alert, Kuljinder Singh rushed to the spot, scaled the boundary wall to enter the house, and found his uncle lying there in a pool of blood.

Case Registered Against Accused Son; Police Conducting Interrogation

Immediately upon receiving news of the incident, the police from the Sidhwan Bet station arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. The police have taken the accused son, Jaskaran Singh, into custody, and he is currently being interrogated. According to police sources, a formal case has been registered against the accused son.
