Son shoots father dead over property dispute in Ghaziabad; he had also attacked his brother in 2018

Ghaziabad: A property dispute in Budhana village, Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh, has taken a bloody turn. It is alleged that a son shot and killed his own father. The accused fled the scene after the incident. Police are conducting raids to search for him.

Father shot after argument

According to police, farmer Hariom Chaudhary was relaxing at home after dinner with his family late Wednesday night. His eldest son, Nikhil Nehra, arrived home, allegedly drunk. His father objected to his behavior, leading to an argument between the two. As the argument escalated, Nikhil allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired several rounds at his father. Seriously injured, Hariom was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Property worth 150 crore rupees became the reason for the dispute

Initial investigations have led police to believe that a family property dispute may be the primary motive behind the murder. Hariom Chaudhary owned approximately 75 bighas of agricultural land and a commercial market on the Delhi-Meerut Road. His total assets are estimated to be worth approximately 150 crore rupees.

According to police, Hariom had already transferred 25 bighas of land and some shops to Nikhil. Despite this, Nikhil was pressuring the family to transfer the remaining property to his name, a matter that had been a long-standing dispute within the family.

He had also fired at his younger brother in 2018

The investigation also revealed that Nikhil has a criminal history. In 2018, he allegedly shot at his younger brother, Nishu, seriously injuring him. Police are now investigating the old case as well.

Police engaged in the search for the accused

After the incident, the accused Nikhil fled the scene. Police have registered a case and are conducting raids at several possible locations to arrest him. Officials say that the accused will be arrested soon and the case will be solved.
