They are not saints…’: Sonam Wangchuk says the CJP founders have political ambitions, there’s nothing wrong with that

New Delhi: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has said that the founders of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) may have political ambitions. However, he clarified that there’s nothing wrong with wanting to enter politics.

‘Political Ambition is Not Wrong’

In a podcast with Prakhar Gupta, Wangchuk said that he closely observed the CJP founders during the Jantar Mantar protest in Delhi and, based on his assessment, believes they have political ambitions.

Wangchuk said that the CJP founders themselves have not told him about their political ambitions. He clarified that this is his personal assessment. He added that they are “not saints” who do not want to gain anything from this entire exercise.

Wangchuk supports youth entry into politics

Wangchuk said he wants to see more young people enter politics. According to him, young people can join existing political parties or even form their own.

He reiterated that having political ambitions is not a bad thing and that the entry of new leaders into politics can bring new ideas and leadership to the democratic system.
