Enmity Stemming from an Old Dispute
In his complaint to the police, Kunal a resident of Gumad village stated that he holds liquor contracts in the Samalkha area. About a year ago, a transaction involving the sale of soil took place with a fellow villager, Sandeep ‘Thekedar’ (Contractor). During this period, another villager, Manoj, accused him of using their money to purchase the liquor contracts and a vehicle.
This led to a dispute between the two parties. According to the complainant, he had previously been fired upon due to this ongoing enmity, an incident for which a case of attempted murder had been registered.
Attack Alleged Despite Earlier Compromise
Kunal stated that he had an altercation involving verbal abuse over the phone with Mohit, a fellow villager, about 20 days ago. A compromise had subsequently been reached between the two parties in the presence of Mohit’s brother-in-law. The complainant alleges that despite the settlement, the accused targeted him again and carried out the incident on Wednesday night.
According to the complaint, he received a call on his mobile phone around 11:16 PM on June 10. It is alleged that Mohit, along with his associates, began hurling abuses during the call. About 10 minutes later, Mohit, Manoj, Ravi, Bachchi, Kala, and other associates arrived at his house in a white Baleno car. At the time, Kunal was in a room on the roof of the house with his father, elder brother, and cousin.
Young Man Narrowly Escapes After Looking Towards the Window
Kunal alleged that when he looked down from the room’s window, Mohit hurled abuses at him and fired a pistol. The bullet struck the windowpane directly, and Kunal narrowly escaped by ducking down. Subsequently, Ravi, Bachchi, and another associate also fired four to five rounds at him.
According to the complainant, to protect themselves from the continuous firing, he and his family members threw bricks kept on the roof towards the accused. Following this, all the accused fled the scene while issuing death threats. It is alleged that they even abandoned their car at the spot while fleeing.
Upon going downstairs after the incident, Kunal found the rear window of his i10 car shattered. The continuous firing created an atmosphere of panic in the entire area. Hearing the sound of gunfire, villagers also began coming out of their homes.

Police officials inspected the scene, where empty cartridge shells were found lying in the street in front of the house. Subsequently, an FSL team was summoned to the site, and the process of collecting evidence was initiated.
