    Special Trains between Punjab and Bihar for Chhath Puja; Railways releases schedule

    The crowd of people traveling from Punjab to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh for Chhath Puja is steadily increasing at railway stations. The Ferozepur Railway Division has decided to run 11 pairs of new special trains for the convenience of passengers. The Railways have also released the train schedule.

    In view of the rush of passengers during the Chhath festival, the Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway has made full preparations to ensure safe and convenient travel. The division is running 11 pairs of special trains, which will make a total of 64 trips. The Railways have also strengthened crowd control, security, ticketing, and information systems at stations and trains.

     

    Crowd Control and Security Arrangements at Railway Stations

    Officers have been deployed on special duty at major stations, including Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Ferozepur. Additional RPF and GRP teams have been deployed. Strict vigil is being maintained on platforms, stairs, and entrances. Temporary waiting areas (8,000 square feet) have been created at Ludhiana and Dhandhari Kalan stations. Railway Scouts have also been deployed for security.

    Extra machines installed at counters to address crowds

    Due to the rush at ticket counters at the railway station, the Railways have installed additional ticket counters and ATVM machines. Platform ticket sales have been temporarily suspended at Ludhiana and Dhandhari Kalan until October 26th. Pass transactions have been suspended at Ludhiana station from October 23rd to 25th. Help desks, display boards, and announcements have been activated at all stations.
