Speeding Trailer Hits Pickup in Bikaner, Passenger Dies in Horror Crash

Bikaner: A speeding trailer collided with a pickup truck at the Ridmalsar intersection in the Jaynarayan Vyas Colony police station area, dragging it for nearly 30 meters into a roadside shop. The passenger sitting next to the driver, Lakshman Ram (30), was critically injured and later died during treatment at PBM Hospital’s trauma center.

The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon around 2:40 pm. CCTV footage of the crash surfaced on Friday evening, capturing the horrifying sequence of events.

How the Accident Happened

According to police, the pickup and trailer were coming from different directions. As the pickup tried to cross the traffic light, it was struck by the speeding trailer. The force of the collision dragged the pickup over the road divider and into a shop, causing severe damage to the driver’s side and critically injuring Lakshman Ram.

Bystanders rushed the occupants to the hospital, but the passenger succumbed to his injuries. The investigation has been assigned to ASI Jaiprakash. A motorcyclist nearby narrowly escaped the crash.

Safety Concerns at Ridmalsar Intersection

Eyewitness Ramesh noted that the intersection has no speed breakers or barriers, leading to frequent accidents. Residents have submitted multiple memoranda to authorities, but no concrete action has been taken so far.
