New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah, Marco Jansen, and Haris Rauf have been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for November 2024, following their outstanding performances across various formats.
Bumrah earned his nomination after taking eight wickets in India’s dominant 295-run victory over Australia in the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, where he also captained the team in Rohit Sharma’s absence. His brilliant spell of 5-30 in the first innings helped India take a 46-run lead, and he followed up with 3-42 in the second innings, securing a memorable win and keeping India’s World Test Championship Final hopes alive.
Jansen’s nomination comes from his all-round success for South Africa in both T20Is and Tests. He impressed with a fiery 54 off 17 balls, though South Africa narrowly lost in Centurion. His return to Test cricket was even more spectacular, taking 11 wickets in a match against Sri Lanka, including a remarkable 7-13 in the first innings—his best Test figures in just 41 balls. This performance strengthened South Africa’s World Test Championship Final aspirations.
Rauf, who featured in six ODIs and three T20Is for Pakistan, was in top form during his Australia tour. He started with a strong three-wicket haul in Melbourne, followed by a pivotal five-wicket performance to level the series. In the series decider at Perth, he took two more wickets, finishing as the series’ top wicket-taker with 10 wickets at an economy rate of five, helping Pakistan secure a 2-1 win. Rauf continued his excellent form in T20Is, claiming five wickets, including a four-wicket haul in the second match, and taking three more wickets in Zimbabwe. He finished November with 18 wickets across formats.
