Lahore: The opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy will be held on February 16 in Lahore. It will be held at the Hazuri Bagh Fort built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Not only this, after the photo shoot, there will also be a press conference of the captains of all the teams. However, it is not clear whether Indian captain Rohit Sharma will attend it or not.
According to PTI, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council will soon jointly announce the opening ceremony. They will also clarify the situation on whether Rohit will go to Pakistan or not. Celebrities, cricket legends and Pakistan government officials are being invited for the ceremony.
Hazuri Bagh is a garden in Lahore, Pakistan. It was built during the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. At its centre is the Hazuri Bagh Baradari, which the Maharaja built in 1818 after acquiring the Kohinoor diamond from Shuja Shah Durrani in 1813.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Shafir will re-open Gaddafi Stadium on 7 February. Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari will open PCB National Stadium Karachi on 11 February. The first match of Champions Trophy will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand on 19 February. Currently renovation work is going on in both the stadiums.
India will play Champions Trophy matches in Dubai
The Indian team will play all its matches in the Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium. The BCCI had refused to send Team India to Pakistan. In such a situation, it has been decided to hold all India’s matches in Dubai.
