Mumbai: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have got divorced. After completing the legal proceedings, both have officially decided to separate.
According to a media house report, a lawyer familiar with the matter said that the final hearing and all the necessary formalities were completed at the Bandra Family Court on Thursday, with both of them present from 11:00 am onwards.
According to the report, during the hearing, the judge directed the couple to attend a counseling session, which lasted for about 45 minutes. When asked by the judge, both Chahal and Dhanashree confirmed that they wanted a divorce by mutual consent. After discussions at the Bandra Family Court, the judge officially approved the divorce at 4:30 pm. Yuzvendra and Dhanashree got married on 11 December 2020.
Both were living separately for 18 months
The lawyer also revealed that both were living separately for the last 18 months before taking the final decision. Rumors of Chahal and his wife Dhanashree’s divorce were going on social media for a long time. However, an official statement from Chahal and Dhanashree has not come out yet.

After this, rumors of their divorce intensified. However, later the cricketer termed the news of divorce as a rumor.
Yuzvendra Chahal is out of Team India
Yuzvendra Chahal is currently out of Team India. He was part of the team that won the T20 World Cup 2024, but did not get a chance to play a single match. He played his last ODI for India in January 2023 and his last T20 in August 2023. Even after this, Punjab Kings bought him for 18 crores in the IPL 2025 auction.
