New Delhi: Virat Kohli is making a comeback in Ranji Trophy after 12 years. He is playing for Delhi against Railways at Arun Jaitley Stadium. More than 13 thousand fans have come to Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday to watch Kohli’s match. Fans are cheering Kohli by chanting RCB-RCB.
Before lunch, a fan broke the security cordon and entered the field. He even touched Kohli’s feet on the field. After this, the security immediately caught him and took him out of the field. Kohli stayed calm and got the man up before security charged in and took the fan away. Kohli also requested the security to not harm the fan.
This is not a one-off incident where fan breached security to meet a player. Though not appreciated, the fans often interrupt the play to meet their favourite players. It has happened to Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and many other cricketers in the past but the players have been gracious enough to not react in a bad way.
KL Rahul, Siraj and Kuldeep are also playing Ranji
Apart from Kohli, KL Rahul is playing Ranji matches for Karnataka, Mohammad Siraj for Hyderabad and Kuldeep Yadav for UP. Earlier, from 23 to 26 January, Indian players like Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant took part in Ranji Trophy matches.
