Got few areas to improve, such series are important before T20 WC: Shaheen Afridi

Dubblin: Pakistan speedster and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi highlighted the importance of the series with Ireland just before the upcoming T20 World Cup that is slated to be held in USA and the West Indies. Pakistan in the 3rd and last match of the series against Ireland registered win and clinched a 2-1 T20I series win. Though the team faced defeat in the first match, but later in the next two matches, Pakistan team led by Babar Azam managed to register the win and clinched the title.

Before the marquee event kicks off in June, Pakistan will play against England in a four-match T20I series. The team under the captaincy of Babar Azam is all high on hopes as they won the series against Ireland.

Stressing on the importance of series just before the T20 world cup, Shaheen Afridi said ,”For us, before the World Cup, it’s important to have these games to ready ourselves and there are a few areas to improve.”

3rd T20I Series against Ireland

In the third T20I, Pakistan captain Babar Azam made a 139-run stand with Mohammad Rizwan (56) for the second wicket. Their partnership laid the foundation for Pakistan’s success after Saim Ayub failed to provide an ideal start for the team.

Reacting on Pak’s win over Ireland, Afridi said, “They’re both world-class players (Babar and Rizwan); they know how to play their role and they have done really well on this pitch,” Shaheen added.
