The prize money has increased by 225% compared to the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup. The title-winning team has been announced to be given 134% more money than before. The runner-up team will also get 134% more money than before. The 2023 winner Australia got Rs 8 crore.
This time the prize money will be given equal to the men’s. A total prize money of Rs 93.52 crore was distributed in the men’s, but 20 teams participated in it. At the same time, a prize money of Rs 66.62 crore will be distributed in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. 10 teams will participate in it. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had announced equal prize money for men’s and women’s teams in the ICC tournament last year.
ICC President Greg Barclay had said that this step is big in the history of cricket. Since 2017, we have been continuously trying to take it. Since 2017, we have been continuously increasing the prize money and match fees in women’s cricket. From now on, winning the ICC Women’s World Cup Men’s World Cup will get equal prize money.
