New Delhi: The 15-member Indian team has been announced for the Test series against New Zealand starting on October 16. Apart from these, four traveling reserves have also been kept. Jasprit Bumrah has been made the vice-captain.
No vice-captain of the Indian team was selected for the two-match series against Bangladesh. It is believed that BCCI is seeing Bumrah as the future captain of the Test team after Rohit Sharma.
The team’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami has not yet been fully fit. He has not got a place in the team. Shami is recovering from an ankle injury, for which he underwent surgery earlier this year. He has been out of the field since the 2023 ODI World Cup final due to injury. Left arm pacer Yash Dayal has been ruled out due to injury. He was in the Indian squad for the Bangladesh series.
The New Zealand team is coming to India for a three-match Test series. A three-match Test series will be played between India and New Zealand from October 16. Its first match will be played in Bengaluru.
