Last day of Paragliding World Cup, final between India and America

After adding today's points, the world will get a new world champion in the women's and men's category.

Bir Bling: The world will get a new paragliding champion today (9 November). Today is the last day of the Paragliding World Cup being held at the world’s second largest paragliding site Bir Billing Valley located in Kangra, Himachal.

Austin Cokes of America is in the first place in the men’s category. He has got 2991 points so far. India’s Ranjeet Singh is in second place with 2871 points. Poland’s Dahmer Capita is in third place with 2844 points.

Joana Kokot of Poland is in the first place with 2486 points in the women’s category. Germany’s Daria Altikva is in second place with 1329 points. Brazil’s Marina Oleksin is in third place with 1232 points.

Today these participants were given the final tasks. After adding today’s points, the world will get a new world champion in the women’s and men’s category.

Bir Billing’s take off site is at an altitude of 2600 meters above sea level. While the landing site is Bir (Kure) at an altitude of 2080 meters above sea level. This championship is being organized by Bir Billing Paragliding Association and Himachal Tourism Department with the approval of Paragliding World Cup Association France (PWCAF).

Bir Billing Paragliding Association spokesperson Ankit Sood said that in this competition, the longest task given to the participants was 121 kilometers, which the participants completed. However, a task of 145 kilometers was also given last Tuesday, but the flight could not take place that day due to bad weather.
