New Delhi: Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025 due to a back injury. The Australia Cricket Board gave this information on Friday. The board’s selection panel will announce his replacement soon.

33-year-old Marsh complained of back pain during the recently concluded Test series against India. His performance in that series was not very good and he was dropped from the last match played in Sydney. Beau Webster got a chance in his place in that match.
The ICC had set the last date for announcing all the teams as January 12. However, changes can be made in the squad till February 12, this is the ICC deadline. Australia will have to announce Marsh’s replacement before this.
Australia in Group B
Australia will play all its group stage matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi. It has been placed in Group B. This group includes teams from Afghanistan, England and South Africa.
The captaincy
Captaincy of the team has been handed over to Pat Cummins, although there is doubt about his playing in the tournament. Cummins suffered an ankle injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
