Vadodra: Defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered their second consecutive win in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The team defeated Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets on Monday. DC was all out for 141 runs at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. RCB achieved the target in 16.2 overs for the loss of 2 wickets.
RCB captain Smriti Mandhana scored 81 runs in 47 balls. She shared an opening partnership of 107 runs with Danny Wyatt. Georgia Wareham and Renuka Singh Thakur took 3-3 wickets. Jemima Rodriguez scored 34 runs from Delhi. Shikha Pandey and Arundhati Reddy got 1-1 wickets.
Delhi lost wickets continuously.
Delhi Capitals, who came to bat first after losing the toss, had a bad start. The team lost the wicket of Shefali Verma in the very first over. Jemima Rodriguez and Meg Lanning then made a partnership of 59 runs. Jemima got out after scoring 34 runs and Lanning got out after scoring 17 runs.
In the end, Sarah Bryce scored 23, Annabel Sutherland scored 19, Shikha Pandey scored 14 and Marizanne Kapp scored 12 runs to take the score to 141 runs. Renuka Thakur and Georgia Wareham took 3-3 wickets from RCB. Kim Garth and Ekta Bisht got 2-2 wickets each.

Wyatt scored 42 runs, she made a partnership of 107 runs with the captain. Alice Perry, who came at number-3, made a partnership with Mandhana and brought the team close to victory.
