Madrid : La Liga club Real Madrid has filed a complaint against referee Juan Martínez Munara. Vinicius Junior was allegedly subjected to racist abuse during Saturday’s match against Osasuna. However, referee Juan Martínez ignored the matter.
Vinicius Junior, who scored twice in a 4-2 win over Osasuna as Real Madrid moved 10 points clear at the top of La Liga. There have been many reports of incidents of racism in the football world over the past few years.
In a statement, Real Madrid said that Juan Martínez had deliberately omitted the racist abuse from the report, despite his attention being constantly drawn to the crowd by Vinny Júnior at the time he was the victim of it.
“Our club has filed a complaint with the Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation against match referee Juan Martínez due to the negligent preparation of the referee’s report,” it said in a statement.
