Fast Bowler Shami completely fit: Management to decide on 3rd T20 after yearlong break

Kotak said, ‘Mohammad Shami is fit at the moment, the decision on his playing will be taken by captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir. At present there is no question on Shami’s fitness, but the final decision on his playing will be taken by the team management.

Shami is included in the Indian squad for the ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy to be played from February 19. The third match of the 5-match series between India and England will be played in Rajkot today from 7:00 pm.

Mohammed Shami played his last international match on 19 November 2023. That was the final match of the ODI World Cup. Shami took one wicket in that match. The Indian team lost that match by 6 wickets.

Had ankle surgery last year

Shami underwent ankle surgery in England in January 2024. After that, Shami was in rehab camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for several months. After this, he returned to professional cricket in October 2024 from Ranji Trophy.
